Chicago, April 7, 2011 – GN ReSound is pleased to announce the introduction of several new form factors, completing the ReSound AleraTM hearing aid product line-up. Additionally we introduce a pioneering new ReSound UniteTM accessory based on the truly wireless 2.4 GHz technology.
The new form factors comprise a mini behind-the-ear model and a full series of traditional custom products, ranging from completely-in-canal to full shell in-the-ear products. These products complement the custom and BTE models already released and hereby complete the ReSound AleraTM product line-up.
All ReSound AleraTM products are equipped with the innovative Surround Sound by ReSound technology which has received very positive feedback from users and dispensers. All products are nano-coated which has improved the functional design and resulted in significantly lower moisture related repair rates. The wireless versions of ReSound AleraTM use 2.4 GHz wireless technology with a stronger, clearer and more stable signal than the inductive technology used in many other wireless hearing aids.
In addition to the new form factors, GN ReSound also announces the new ReSound UniteTM Mini Microphone – a portable wireless clip-on microphone that transmits speech directly to the hearing instru-ments, facilitating communication even in difficult listening situations. ReSound UniteTM Mini Microphone delivers clear, echo-free sound directly into the hearing aids, and as the only solution on the market, without an intermediate third device to be worn around the neck.
The ReSound UniteTM accessories extend ReSound Alera’sTM reach and maximize its benefits by letting people hear sound sources outside of a hearing instrument’s normal range. The new ReSound UniteTM Mini Microphone expands the listening range well beyond the range of any directional microphones in demanding situations such as:
The ReSound UniteTM Mini Microphone is an assistive device that can be used at home, on the job and in many different social contexts. In addition to the microphone functionality it can, via the built in mini jack connector, be connected to virtually any audio device and stream sound directly to the hearing aids.
“The new ReSound UniteTM Mini Microphone makes a real difference for the hearing aid user – it extends the everyday use of an already superior hearing aid. And with the new form factors the ReSound AleraTM family is complete and can now offer a truly wireless surround sound experience for virtually every hearing loss and preference,” says CEO of GN ReSound, Lars Viksmoen.
The ReSound AleraTM family is available in a wide range of models; from the unique, wireless custom remote microphone and ReSound Alera Fusionmodels to the award-winning receiver-in-the-ear products and the new traditional custom products and mini behind-the-ear products. The newest form factors and accessories will be shipping in the third quarter this year.
